This is a polygon representation of all active surveyed parcels stored in the fabric. It is a combination of compiled parcels of unknown accuracy as well as parcels created from surveyor submissions.

The following table contains the Parcel Polygon attributes and descriptions.

Attribute Name Description Real-World Change?
GlobalID

Unique global identifier for the feature

Values: System-generated

Name

Freeform alphanumeric name for the parcel record.

Values:

If the parcel has a PID, populated with the PID (with padded zeroes).

If the parcel has a PIN only, populated with the PIN.

If the parcel has no PID or PIN, generally populated with the Parcel Class description (ex. for Building Strata parcels, “Building Strata”, for Interest parcels, “Interest”, for road parcels, “Road”, for park parcels, “Park”).

Notes: Operational procedures may populate this field with more descriptive values for parcels without a PID or PIN.

Y
PlanID

A unique PMBC ID number that links to the corresponding record in the Plan table.

Values: PlanID (system-managed)

Notes: Relational link to PlanID in the Plan, Common Ownership and Shared Geometry tables.

Y
PlanNumber

Plan Number value corresponding to the PlanID from the Plan table, as associated to the parcel feature.

Values: Prefixed plan numbers depending if it is a Land Title, Land Act or Strata Act Plan.

“NO_PLAN” refers to parcels from initial compilation where a defined plan number could not be identified.

Notes: See Plan Prefix Codes for more details.

Y
PID

Parcel Identifier (PID) for the parcel record as recorded in the land title register.

Values: Integer representation of the PID

Notes: For the 9 character (i.e. “padded zeros”) representation of the PID, see the Name attribute. Relational link to PID in the PID to JUROL table.

Y
PIN

Parcel Identification Number (PIN) for the parcel record as recorded in the Crown land registry (TANTALIS).

Notes: For Parcel Class = “Part of Primary”, this will record the PIN of the Primary parcel.

Y
Designation1

Designation for the smallest division of lands in the survey description of the parcel.

Values: This is generally the Parcel or Lot from a Subdivided parcel or the Quadrant or Block from an Unsubdivided parcel.

Notes: For parcels with a PID, this reflects the value associated with the short legal description for the parcel record in the land title register.

Y
Designation2

Designation for the 2nd smallest division of lands in the survey description of the parcel.

Values: This is generally the Block from a Subdivided parcel or the District Lot or Section from an Unsubdivided parcel.

Notes: For parcels with a PID, this reflects the value associated with the short legal description for the parcel record in the land title register.

Y
Designation3

Designation for the 3rd smallest division of lands in the survey description of the parcel.

Values: This is generally the District Lot or Section from a Subdivided parcel or the Township and/or Range from an Unsubdivided parcel.

Notes: For parcels with a PID, this reflects the value associated with the short legal description for the parcel record in the land title register.

Y
ParcelStatus

Status of this parcel record in the land title register or Crown land registry.

Values: See Parcel Status domain for more details.

Notes: Active parcels are current in the land title register or Crown land registry.

Inactive and Cancelled parcels are historic records in the land title register or Crown land registry and will be captured as Real-World Changes.

Y
RegionalDistrict

Regional District within which the parcel is located.

Values: See Regional District domain for more details.

Notes: For parcels with a PID, this reflects the value associated with the parcel record in the land title register.

Y
ParcelClass

Parcel classification defining the type of parcel record, indicating statutory origin and expected attribute signature for the survey parcel.

Values: See Parcel Class domain for more details.

Notes: Further Parcel Information can be found at Information in ParcelMap BC.

Y
SourceParcelID

Unique identifier from source data provider captured during initial compilation. Intended to assist use of ParcelMap BC by local governments by providing traceability back to the source data unique ID.

Values: Populated based on Geometry Source:

      If from ICF = DATA_SOURCE_LINK_ID,

If from ICIS Cadastre = n/a,

      If from Tantalis = n/a

Notes: This is not populated during on-going ParcelMap BC operations.

GeometrySource

The source of the parcel’s geometry/shape.

Values: See Geometry Source domain for more details.

Notes: Use of “Modified-<source>” indicates that for this particular parcel, modifications were required to the source geometry along a source boundary.

IsRemainder

Indicates whether the parcel reflects a remainder of an original parcel record.

Values: Yes/No

Notes: Operational flag from ParcelMap BC Operations. Does not reflect state for existing remainder parcels captured in initial compilation.

ParcelStartDate

Date of the legal event that created the Parcel (e.g. date plan is filed or confirmed).

Values: DD/MM/YYYY

Notes: For parcels received as a surveyor submission, this is set automatically as the plan filing date in the land title register.

Y
PositionalError

Estimated absolute positional error of the worst parcel point within the parcel. (for the semi-major axis at 95% confidence level).

Values: distance in metres

Notes: The source of the estimated error is indicated in the ErrorReportedBy attribute:

  • PMBC-COMPILATION: Positional Error is the average offset between Control points and associated fabric points in the neighbourhood
  • PMBC-OPERATIONS: Positional Error is an estimate of the maximum distance a parcel is from its real world position
  • LSA: Positional Error is a statistical measure of how likely a parcel is to be in its correct real-world position

LegalDescription

The full legal description of the parcel.

Notes: For parcel records with a PID, the value reflects the legal description for the parcel record in the land title register. For parcel records with a PIN (and no PID), the value the value reflects the legal description for the parcel record in the Crown land registry (TANTALIS).

Y
CaptureMethod

The source of the parcel’s boundary dimensions.

Values: See Capture Method domain for more details.

Notes: An indicator of parcel’s relative accuracy within the fabric. Compiled parcels have an unknown capture method.

OwnerType

Generalized ownership type classification based on registration of title for the parcel.

Values: See Owner Type domain for more details.

Notes: Detailed descriptions of the assignment of Owner Type values are available at: Owner Types in ParcelMap BC

Y
Compiled

Indicates whether the parcel boundaries (and resultant polygon geometry) are based on dimensions inversed from source parcel polygons used in compilation.

Values: 0 = False, 1 = True

Notes: Values with 1 indicate that the parcels were delivered to LTSA during the Increment delivery process.

CreatedDate

Date when the parcel record was created in ParcelMap BC.

Values: System-generated

Notes: DD/MM/YYYY

ModifiedDate

Date the parcel record was last modified in ParcelMap BC.

Values: System-generated

Notes: DD/MM/YYYY

StatedArea

Area of parcel polygon based on survey dimensions, where available.

Notes: Automatically calculated if parcel survey misclose is small. May not reflect the legal area as depicted on the survey plan. Generally not available if value for Compiled = True.

ErrorReportedBy

Defines which process computed the Positional Error value.

Values: See ErrorReportedBy domain for more details.

Notes: See notes on Positional Error above.

Municipality

Incorporated Municipality within which the parcel is located.

Values: See Municipality domain for more details.

Notes: For parcels with a PID, this reflects the value associated with the parcel record in the land title register.

Y
Shape

Contains the representative geometry of the parcel record in the requested Spatial Reference.

Values: Polygon geometry

Notes: This is the geometry for the projected parcel polygon feature in the integrated parcel fabric and not the underlying component, ground based survey dimensions.
