Property Alerts

Last modified on

You must successfully connect a property to your BC Property Connect account before you can receive property alerts.

What are property alerts?

Property alerts notify you when a change is submitted to the title of a property connected to your BC Property Connect account.

Property alerts help you stay informed about activity on your property title, so you can review any changes and take action if needed.

How do property alerts work?

After a property is connected to your BC Property Connect account, the property title is monitored for activity. If a change is submitted to the title, you will receive a notification.

Examples of changes that may trigger an alert include:

  • Change to ownership
  • Change of mailing address / Change of name
  • Lien
  • Mortgage
  • Certificate of pending litigation (CPL)
  • Judgment
  • Crown debt / Crown lien
  • Covenants / Restrictive covenants
  • Right of way / Statutory right of way
  • Strata plan filing
  • Cancellation of a registered interest
  • Other title activities

To view the details of a property alert, sign in to your BC Property Connect account.

Why property alerts matter to you?

Property alerts help you stay informed about activity on your property.

With timely updates, you can:

  • Identify unexpected changes early
  • Make informed decisions using current information
  • Take action if needed

Property alerts do not prevent changes from being made to a property title. Instead, they help keep you informed of title activity so you can take action promptly if needed.

LTSA employees cannot interpret information contained on title or other land title records. If you need help understanding your property ownership or charges on your title, you may need to consult a professional
